I heard a wedding procession pass by on the lane. The band-wala men were playing a few very popular classic love numbers. I was playing a game on my laptop, and was glad to hear the songs again after a long time. And then suddenly, the next song they played was Mere desh ki dharti ! A patrioitic song!
Really? That was my first thought. The second was to listen a bit longer and confirm if that was really the song. And oh, well, turned out, that was the song.
I know it’s a happy wedding procession and the they just wanted to dance to music. But a patriotic song? Just because it’s fast-paced and popular?
Needless to say, while I was amused and went WTF, I’m sure people had a good time dancing to it.

Ha!
Yes that happens too often! Infact it happens more like Mere desh ki dhartiiiiiiiiiiii (when you are going WTF) and then comes ‘Check – Check’ (you doubly go WTF) and then again mere desh ki dhartiiiiiiiiiiiiii
